DIMON dī’ mən (דִּימﯴנ׃֙; LXX Πεμμων; dung-pit?). A place mentioned in Isaiah’s oracle against Moab (Isa 15:9). Though taken by RSV as a mistake for Dibon, it is now identified with Khirbet Dimneh near ’ain el-Megheisil. (J. Simons, The Geographical and Topographical Texts of the Old Testament, 1261.)
