The Bronze Serpent

(A)Then the Lord sent fiery serpents among the people and (B)they bit the people, so that (C)many people of Israel died. (D)So the people came to Moses and said, “We have sinned, because we have spoken against the Lord and against you; (E)intercede with the Lord, that He will remove the serpents from us.” And Moses interceded for the people. Then the Lord said to Moses, “[a]Make a (F)fiery serpent, and put it on a flag pole; and it shall come about, that everyone who is bitten, and looks at it, will live.”

And the Lord said unto Moses, Make thee a fiery serpent, and set it upon a pole: and it shall come to pass, that every one that is bitten, when he looketh upon it, shall live.
