⁴⁰But as it is, ^(A)you are seeking to kill Me, a man who has ^(B)told you the truth, which I heard from God; this Abraham did not do.

John 8:40

⁴⁰As it is, you are looking for a way to kill me,^(A) a man who has told you the truth that I heard from God.^(B) Abraham did not do such things.

⁴¹You are doing the deeds of ^(A)your father.” They said to Him, “We were not born as a result of sexual immorality; ^(B)we have one Father: God.”

⁴¹You are doing the works of your own father.”^(A)

“We are not illegitimate children,” they protested. “The only Father we have is God himself.”^(B)
