Legacy Standard Bible
18 and having been (A)freed from sin, you became slaves of righteousness. 19 (B)I am speaking in human terms because of the weakness of your flesh. For just (C)as you presented your members as slaves to impurity and to lawlessness, [a]leading to further lawlessness, so now present your members as slaves to righteousness, [b]leading to sanctification.
20 For (D)when you were slaves of sin, you were free in regard to righteousness.

New International Version
18 You have been set free from sin(A) and have become slaves to righteousness.(B)
19 I am using an example from everyday life(C) because of your human limitations. Just as you used to offer yourselves as slaves to impurity and to ever-increasing wickedness, so now offer yourselves as slaves to righteousness(D) leading to holiness. 20 When you were slaves to sin,(E) you were free from the control of righteousness.(F)
