¹¹ The counsel of the Lord standeth for ever, the thoughts of his heart to all generations.

⁹ A man's heart deviseth his way: but the Lord directeth his steps.

²⁴ Man's goings are of the Lord; how can a man then understand his own way?

¹⁰ Take counsel together, and it shall come to nought; speak the word, and it shall not stand: for God is with us.

²⁴ The Lord of hosts hath sworn, saying, Surely as I have thought, so shall it come to pass; and as I have purposed, so shall it stand:

²⁷ For the Lord of hosts hath purposed, and who shall disannul it? and his hand is stretched out, and who shall turn it back?

² Yet he also is wise, and will bring evil, and will not call back his words: but will arise against the house of the evildoers, and against the help of them that work iniquity.

⁸ The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever.

¹⁰ Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure:

¹⁴ All ye, assemble yourselves, and hear; which among them hath declared these things? The Lord hath loved him: he will do his pleasure on Babylon, and his arm shall be on the Chaldeans.
