⁶ Yet you desired faithfulness even in the womb;
    you taught me wisdom^(A) in that secret place.^(B)

⁷ Cleanse^(C) me with hyssop,^(D) and I will be clean;
    wash me, and I will be whiter than snow.^(E)
8 Let me hear joy and gladness;^(F)
    let the bones^(G) you have crushed rejoice.
⁹ Hide your face from my sins^(H)
    and blot out^(I) all my iniquity.

¹⁰ Create in me a pure heart,^(J) O God,
    and renew a steadfast spirit within me.^(K)
11 Do not cast me^(L) from your presence^(M)
    or take your Holy Spirit^(N) from me.
¹² Restore to me the joy of your salvation^(O)
    and grant me a willing spirit,^(P) to sustain me.^(Q)

¹⁷ My sacrifice,^(A) O God, is^[a] a broken spirit;
    a broken and contrite heart^(B)
    you, God, will not despise.
