Proverbs 11:8-10

⁸¶ The righteous is delivered out of the tribulation, and the wicked takes his place.

⁹¶ The hypocrite with his mouth destroys his neighbour, but the just are delivered with wisdom.

¹⁰¶ When it goes well with the righteous, the city rejoices, and when the wicked perish, there are feasts.

Proverbs 11:8-10

New International Version

⁸The righteous person is rescued from trouble,
and it falls on the wicked instead.^(A)

⁹With their mouths the godless destroy their neighbors,
but through knowledge the righteous escape.^(B)

¹⁰When the righteous prosper, the city rejoices;^(C)
when the wicked perish, there are shouts of joy.^(D)
