Rose up against Moses, and with them two hundred and fifty others of the children of Israel, leading men of the synagogue, and who in the time of assembly were called by name.

And when they had stood up against Moses and Aaron, they said: Let it be enough for you, that all the multitude consisteth of holy ones, and the Lord is among them: Why lift you up yourselves above the people of the Lord?

and rose up against Moses.(A) With them were 250 Israelite men, well-known community leaders who had been appointed members of the council.(B) They came as a group to oppose Moses and Aaron(C) and said to them, “You have gone too far! The whole community is holy,(D) every one of them, and the Lord is with them.(E) Why then do you set yourselves above the Lord’s assembly?”(F)

When Moses heard this, he fell facedown.(G)
