⁴When he had called together all the people’s chief priests and teachers of the law, he asked them where the Messiah was to be born.

⁴And when he had gathered all the chief priests and scribes of the people together, he demanded of them where Christ should be born.

¹⁰The disciples asked him, “Why then do the teachers of the law say that Elijah must come first?”

¹⁰And his disciples asked him, saying, Why then say the scribes that Elias must first come?

³⁵While Jesus was teaching in the temple courts,^(C) he asked, “Why do the teachers of the law say that the Messiah is the son of David?^(D)

³⁵And Jesus answered and said, while he taught in the temple, How say the scribes that Christ is the son of David?
