The Wise and Foolish Builders^(A)

²⁴ “Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice^(B) is like a wise man who built his house on the rock.

²⁵ The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock.

Jesus Washes His Disciples’ Feet

13 It was just before the Passover Festival.^(A) Jesus knew that the hour had come^(B) for him to leave this world and go to the Father.^(C) Having loved his own who were in the world, he loved them to the end.

⁴ and into an inheritance^(A) that can never perish, spoil or fade.^(B) This inheritance is kept in heaven for you,^{(C) 5} who through faith are shielded by God’s power^(D) until the coming of the salvation^(E) that is ready to be revealed^(F) in the last time. ⁶ In all this you greatly rejoice,^(G) though now for a little while^(H) you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials.^(I)
