¹⁶ But if he does not listen to you, take one or two more with you, so that ^(A)on the ^[a]testimony of two or three witnesses every ^[b]matter may be confirmed. ¹⁷ And if he refuses to listen to them, ^(B)tell it to the church; and if he refuses to listen even to the church, ^(C)he is to be to you as ^[c]a Gentile and ^[d]a tax collector. ¹⁸ Truly I say to you, ^(D)whatever you ^[e]bind on earth ^[f]shall have been bound in heaven; and whatever you ^[g]loose on earth ^[h]shall have been loosed in heaven.

² And when Peter came up to Jerusalem, ^[a](A)the Jewish believers took issue with him,

³ saying, “^(A)You ^[a]went to ^[b]uncircumcised men and ate with them.”

¹⁹ Do not accept an accusation against an ^(A)elder except on the basis of ^(B)two or three witnesses. ²⁰ Those who continue in sin, ^(C)rebuke in the presence of all, ^(D)so that the rest also will be fearful of sinning. ^21 (E)I solemnly exhort you in the presence of God and of Christ Jesus and of His chosen angels, to maintain these principles without bias, doing nothing in a spirit of partiality.
