⁷ And the one being called Barabbas had been bound with the rebels^[a] who had committed murder in the rebellion^[b]. ⁸ And having come up, the crowd began to ask him to do as he was [in the habit of] doing for them. ⁹ And Pilate responded to them, saying “Do you want me to release the King of the Jews for you?”
