Lamentations 1:2-4
New American Standard Bible 1995
2 She (A)weeps bitterly in the night
And her tears are on her cheeks;
She has none to comfort her
Among all her (B)lovers.
All her friends have (C)dealt treacherously with her;
They have become her enemies.
3 (D)Judah has gone into exile [a]under affliction
And [b]under [c]harsh servitude;
She dwells (E)among the nations,
But she has found no rest;
All (F)her pursuers have overtaken her
In the midst of [d]distress.
4 The roads [e]of Zion are in mourning
Because (G)no one comes to the appointed feasts.
All her gates are (H)desolate;
Her priests are groaning,
Her (I)virgins are afflicted,
And she herself [f]is (J)bitter.
