“Abide in Me, and I in you. Just as the branch cannot bear fruit of itself unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me.

“I am the vine. You are the branches. Whoever abides in Me, and I in him, the same brings forth much fruit. For without Me, you can do nothing.

“If one does not abide in Me, he is cast forth as a branch, and withers. And they are gathered up and cast into the fire, and they burn.

Remain in me, as I also remain in you.(A) No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me.

“I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit;(B) apart from me you can do nothing. If you do not remain in me, you are like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned.(C)
