¹³Such is the destiny^(A) of all who forget God;^(B)
so perishes the hope of the godless.^(C)

¹³So are the paths of all that forget God; and the hypocrite's hope shall perish:

⁸For what hope have the godless^(A) when they are cut off,
when God takes away their life?^(B)

⁸For what is the hope of the hypocrite, though he hath gained, when God taketh away his soul?

⁹Does God listen to their cry
when distress comes upon them?^(A)

⁹Will God hear his cry when trouble cometh upon him?
