5 Why have I seen it?
They are dismayed
    and have turned backward.
Their (A)warriors are beaten down
    and have fled in haste;
(B)they look not back—
    (C)terror on every side!
declares the Lord.

6 “The swift cannot flee away,
    nor the warrior escape;
(D)in the north by the river Euphrates
    (E)they have stumbled and fallen.

7 “Who is this, (F)rising like the Nile,
    like rivers (G)whose waters surge?
