Jeremiah 23:31-33

31 I am against the false prophets,” says the Lord. “They use their own words and pretend it is a message from me. 32 I am against the prophets who prophesy false dreams,” says the Lord. “They mislead my people with their lies and false teachings! I did not send them or command them to do anything for me. They can’t help the people of Judah at all,” says the Lord.

33 “Suppose the people of Judah, a prophet, or a priest asks you: ‘Jeremiah, what is the message from the Lord?’ You will answer them and say, ‘You are a heavy load to the Lord, and I will throw you down, says the Lord.’

New International Version
31 Yes,” declares the Lord, “I am against the prophets who wag their own tongues and yet declare, ‘The Lord declares.’(A) 32 Indeed, I am against those who prophesy false dreams,(B)” declares the Lord. “They tell them and lead my people astray(C) with their reckless lies,(D) yet I did not send(E) or appoint them. They do not benefit(F) these people in the least,” declares the Lord.

33 “When these people, or a prophet or a priest, ask you, ‘What is the message(G) from the Lord?’ say to them, ‘What message? I will forsake(H) you, declares the Lord.’
