12 Over all the barren heights in the wilderness
the destroyers have come,
for the Lord has a sword that devours
from one end of the earth to the other.
No one has peace.(A)
13 They have sown wheat but harvested thorns.(B)
They have exhausted themselves but have no profit.(C)
Be put to shame by your harvests
because of the Lord’s burning anger.(D)

14 This is what the Lord says: “Concerning all My evil neighbors who attack the inheritance that I bequeathed to My people, Israel, I am about to uproot them(E) from their land, and I will uproot the house of Judah from them.

    destroyers will swarm,
for the sword(A) of the Lord(B) will devour(C)
    from one end of the land to the other;(D)
    no one will be safe.(E)
13 They will sow wheat but reap thorns;
    they will wear themselves out but gain nothing.(F)
They will bear the shame of their harvest
    because of the Lord’s fierce anger.”(G)

14 This is what the Lord says: “As for all my wicked neighbors who seize the inheritance(H) I gave my people Israel, I will uproot(I) them from their lands and I will uproot(J) the people of Judah from among them.
