6 for whom the Lord loves He disciplines,
and scourges every son whom He receives.”[a]
7 Endure discipline; God is dealing with you as with sons. For what son is there whom a father does not discipline? 8 If you are without discipline, of which everyone has partaken, then you are illegitimate children and not sons.

7 Endure hardship as discipline; God is treating you as his children.(C) For what children are not disciplined by their father? 8 If you are not disciplined—and everyone undergoes discipline(D)—then you are not legitimate, not true sons and daughters at all.
