12 So now do not (A)give your daughters to their sons nor take their daughters for your sons, and (B)never seek their peace or their prosperity, so that you may be strong and may eat the good things of the land, and (C)leave it as an inheritance to your sons forever.’ 13 And after everything that has come upon us for our evil deeds and (D)our great guilt, since You our God have spared us by inflicting less than our wrongdoing deserves, and have given us such (E)an escaped remnant as this, 14 (F)shall we again break Your commandments and intermarry with the peoples [a]who commit these abominations? (G)Would You not be angry with us [b]to the point of destruction, until there would be no remnant nor any who would escape?

13 “What has happened to us is a result of our evil(E) deeds and our great guilt, and yet, our God, you have punished us less than our sins deserved(F) and have given us a remnant like this. 14 Shall we then break your commands again and intermarry(G) with the peoples who commit such detestable practices? Would you not be angry enough with us to destroy us,(H) leaving us no remnant(I) or survivor?
