43 He led me to the gate,^(A) the one that faces east, ² and I saw the glory of the God of Israel^(B) coming from the east.^(C) His voice sounded like the roar of a huge torrent,^(D) and the earth shone with his glory.^{(E) 3} The vision I saw^(F) was like the one I had seen when he^[a] came to destroy the city,^(G) and like the ones I had seen by the Chebar Canal.^(H) I fell facedown.^(I)
