¹⁸ Behold, about this time tomorrow, ^(A)I will rain down very heavy hail, such as has not been seen in Egypt from the day it was founded ^[a]until now.

²³ So Moses stretched out his staff toward the sky, and Yahweh gave forth ^[a]thunder and ^(A)hail, and fire went down to the earth. And Yahweh rained down hail on the land of Egypt.

¹⁸ So Samuel called to Yahweh, and Yahweh sent ^[a]thunder and rain that day; and ^(A)all the people greatly feared Yahweh and Samuel.

¹⁹ Then all the people said to Samuel, “^(B)Pray for your servants to Yahweh your God, so that we may not die, for we have added to all our sins ^(C)this evil by asking for ourselves a king.”
