¹³Break down their altars, smash their sacred stones and cut down their Asherah poles.^[a]^(A)

¹³But ye shall destroy their altars, break their images, and cut down their groves:

²¹The Philistines abandoned their idols there, and David and his men carried them off.^(A)

²¹And there they left their images, and David and his men burned them.

¹⁴Josiah smashed^(A) the sacred stones and cut down the Asherah poles and covered the sites with human bones.^(B)

¹⁴And he brake in pieces the images, and cut down the groves, and filled their places with the bones of men.
