Esther 9:25-27
New American Standard Bible 1995
25 But (A)when it came [a]to the king’s attention, he commanded by letter (B)that his wicked scheme which he had [b]devised against the Jews, (C)should return on his own head and that he and his sons should be hanged on the [c]gallows. 26 Therefore they called these days Purim after the name of Pur. [d]And (D)because of the instructions in this letter, both what they had seen in this regard and what had happened to them, 27 the Jews established and [e]made a custom for themselves and for their [f]descendants and for (E)all those who allied themselves with them, so that [g]they would not fail (F)to celebrate these two days according to their [h]regulation and according to their appointed time annually.
