That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

Not of works, lest any man should boast.

10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

11 Wherefore remember, that ye being in time past Gentiles in the flesh, who are called Uncircumcision by that which is called the Circumcision in the flesh made by hands;

12 That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world:

in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace,(A) expressed in his kindness(B) to us in Christ Jesus. For it is by grace(C) you have been saved,(D) through faith(E)—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works,(F) so that no one can boast.(G) 10 For we are God’s handiwork,(H) created(I) in Christ Jesus to do good works,(J) which God prepared in advance for us to do.

11 Therefore, remember that formerly(K) you who are Gentiles by birth and called “uncircumcised” by those who call themselves “the circumcision” (which is done in the body by human hands)(L) 12 remember that at that time you were separate from Christ, excluded from citizenship in Israel and foreigners(M) to the covenants of the promise,(N) without hope(O) and without God in the world.
