21 He was also (A)driven away from the sons of [a]men, and his heart was made like that of beasts, and his place of habitation was with the (B)wild donkeys. He was given grass to eat like cattle, and his body was drenched with the dew of the sky until he knew that the (C)Most High God is the powerful ruler over the kingdom of mankind and that He sets up over it whomever He wishes. 22 Yet you, his [b]son, Belshazzar, have (D)not made your heart lowly, [c]even though you knew all this, 23 but you have (E)raised yourself up against the (F)Lord of heaven; and they have brought the vessels of His house before you, and you and your nobles, your wives and your concubines have been drinking wine from them; and you have praised the (G)gods of silver and gold, of bronze, iron, wood and stone, which do not see, hear, or know. But the God (H)in whose hand are your life-breath and all your (I)ways, you have not honored.

22 “But you, Belshazzar, his son,[a] have not humbled(C) yourself, though you knew all this. 23 Instead, you have set yourself up against(D) the Lord of heaven. You had the goblets from his temple brought to you, and you and your nobles, your wives(E) and your concubines drank wine from them. You praised the gods of silver and gold, of bronze, iron, wood and stone, which cannot see or hear or understand.(F) But you did not honor the God who holds in his hand your life(G) and all your ways.(H)
