2 Peter 3:4-7
New American Standard Bible
4 and saying, “(A)Where is the promise of His (B)coming? For ever since the fathers [a](C)fell asleep, all things continue just as they were (D)from the beginning of creation.” 5 For [b]when they maintain this, it escapes their notice that (E)by the word of God the heavens existed long ago and the earth was (F)formed out of water and by water, 6 through which (G)the world at that time was (H)destroyed by being flooded with water. 7 But by His word (I)the present heavens and earth are being reserved for (J)fire, kept for (K)the day of judgment and destruction of ungodly people.

4 They will say, “Where is this ‘coming’ he promised?(A) Ever since our ancestors died, everything goes on as it has since the beginning of creation.”(B) 5 But they deliberately forget that long ago by God’s word(C) the heavens came into being and the earth was formed out of water and by water.(D) 6 By these waters also the world of that time(E) was deluged and destroyed.(F) 7 By the same word the present heavens and earth are reserved for fire,(G) being kept for the day of judgment(H) and destruction of the ungodly.
