³He removed the foreign altars^(A) and the high places, smashed the sacred stones^(B) and cut down the Asherah poles.^[a]^(C)

³For he took away the altars of the strange gods, and the high places, and brake down the images, and cut down the groves:

⁵He removed the high places^(A) and incense altars^(B) in every town in Judah, and the kingdom was at peace under him.

⁵Also he took away out of all the cities of Judah the high places and the images: and the kingdom was quiet before him.

¹⁷Although he did not remove the high places from Israel, Asa’s heart was fully committed to the Lord all his life.

¹⁷But the high places were not taken away out of Israel: nevertheless the heart of Asa was perfect all his days.
