3 For the time will come when they will not tolerate sound doctrine,(A) but according to their own desires, will multiply teachers for themselves because they have an itch to hear something new.[a] 4 They will turn away from hearing the truth and will turn aside to myths.(B) 5 But as for you, be serious about everything, endure hardship, do the work of an evangelist,(C) fulfill your ministry.

3 For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine.(A) Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear.(B) 4 They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths.(C) 5 But you, keep your head in all situations, endure hardship,(D) do the work of an evangelist,(E) discharge all the duties of your ministry.
