^12 (A)When your days are finished and you ^[a](B)lie down with your fathers, ^(C)I will raise up your ^[b]descendant after you, who will come from ^[c]you, and I will establish his kingdom.

^16 (A)Your house and your kingdom shall endure before ^[a]Me forever; your throne shall be established forever.”’”

⁴ so that ^(A)the Lord may fulfill His ^[a]promise which He spoke regarding me, saying, ‘^(B)If your sons are careful about their way, ^(C)to walk before Me in ^[b]truth with all their heart and all their soul, ^[c](D)you shall not be deprived of a man to occupy the throne of Israel.’

¹² “As for this house which you are building, ^(A)if you will walk in My statutes and execute My ordinances and keep all My commandments by walking in them, then I will fulfill My word with you which I spoke to David your father.

^10 (A)He shall build a house for My name, and he shall be My son and I will be his Father; and I will establish the throne of his kingdom over Israel forever.’
