They arose at twilight to go to the camp of the Arameans; when they came to the outskirts of the camp of the Arameans, behold, there was no one there. For (A)the Lord had caused the army of the Arameans to hear a sound of chariots and a sound of horses, even the sound of a great army, so that they said to one another, “Behold, the king of Israel has hired against us (B)the kings of the Hittites and (C)the kings of the Egyptians, to come upon us.” Therefore they (D)arose and fled in the twilight, and left their tents and their horses and their donkeys, even the camp just as it was, and fled for their life.

At dusk they got up and went to the camp of the Arameans. When they reached the edge of the camp, no one was there, for the Lord had caused the Arameans to hear the sound(A) of chariots and horses and a great army, so that they said to one another, “Look, the king of Israel has hired(B) the Hittite(C) and Egyptian kings to attack us!” So they got up and fled(D) in the dusk and abandoned their tents and their horses and donkeys. They left the camp as it was and ran for their lives.
