²¹ Abiathar told David that Saul had killed the religious leaders of the Lord. ²² David said to Abiathar, “I knew that day when Doeg the Edomite was there, that he would be sure to tell Saul. I am to blame for the death of every person in your father’s family. ²³ Stay with me. Do not be afraid. For he who wants to kill me wants to kill you. But you are safe with me.”
