⁷ Who at any time serves ^(A)as a soldier at his own expense? Who ^(B)plants a vineyard and does not eat its fruit? Or who tends a flock and does not ^[a]consume some of the milk of the flock?

¹⁴ So also ^(A)the Lord directed those who proclaim the ^(B)gospel to ^(C)get their living from the gospel.

^6 (A)The one who is taught ^(B)the word is to share all good things with the one who teaches him.

¹³ and that you regard them very highly in love because of their work. ^(A)Live in peace with one another.

Concerning Elders

^17 (A)The elders who ^(B)lead well are to be considered worthy of double honor, especially those who ^(C)work hard ^[a]at preaching and teaching. ¹⁸ For the Scripture says, “^(D)You shall not muzzle the ox while it is threshing,” and “^(E)The laborer is worthy of his wages.”

¹⁵ You yourselves also know, Philippians, that at the ^[a](A)first preaching of the gospel, after I left ^(B)Macedonia, no church ^(C)shared with me in the matter of giving and receiving except you alone; ¹⁶ for even in ^(D)Thessalonica you sent a gift more than once for my needs.
