Zephaniah 1:14-18
New American Standard Bible
14 The (A)great (B)day of the Lord is near,
Near and coming very quickly;
Listen, the day of the Lord!
[a]In it the warrior (C)cries out bitterly.
15 That day is a day of anger,
A day of (D)trouble and distress,
A day of destruction and desolation,
A day of (E)darkness and gloom,
A day of clouds and thick darkness,
16 A day of (F)trumpet and battle cry
Against the (G)fortified cities
And the high corner towers.
17 I will bring (H)distress on mankind
So that they will walk (I)like those who are blind,
Because they have sinned against the Lord;
And their (J)blood will be poured out like dust,
And their (K)flesh like dung.
18 Neither their (L)silver nor their gold
Will be able to save them
On the day of the Lord’s anger;
And (M)all the earth will be devoured
By the fire of His jealousy,
For He will (N)make a complete end,
Indeed a horrifying one,
Of all the inhabitants of the earth.

11 Since all these things are to be destroyed in this way, what sort of people ought you to be in holy conduct and godliness, 12 (G)looking for and hastening the coming of the day of God, because of which (H)the heavens will be destroyed by burning, and the (I)elements will melt with intense heat!
