The Seventh Seal: Trumpets

8 When the Lamb broke the ^(A)seventh seal, there was silence in heaven for about half an hour. ² And I saw ^(B)the seven angels who stand before God, and seven ^(C)trumpets were given to them.

^3 (D)Another angel came and stood at the ^(E)altar, holding a ^(F)golden censer; and much ^(G)incense was given to him, so that he might ^[a]add it to the ^(H)prayers of all the ^[b]saints on the ^(I)golden altar which was before the throne. ⁴ And ^(J)the smoke of the incense ascended from the angel’s hand with the prayers of the ^[c]saints before God. ⁵ Then the angel ^[d]took the ^[e]censer and ^(K)filled it with the fire of the altar, and ^(L)hurled it to the earth; and there were ^(M)peals of thunder and sounds, and flashes of lightning and an ^(N)earthquake.

¹⁹ And ^(A)the ^[a]temple of God which is in heaven was opened; and ^(B)the ark of His covenant appeared in His ^[b]temple, and there were flashes of ^(C)lightning and sounds and peals of thunder, and an earthquake, and a ^(D)great ^[c]hailstorm.

¹⁸ And there were flashes of ^(A)lightning and sounds and peals of thunder; and there was ^(B)a great earthquake, ^(C)such as there had not been since mankind came to be upon the earth, so great an earthquake was it, and so mighty. ^19 (D)The great city ^[a]was split into three parts, and the cities of the ^[b]nations fell. ^(E)Babylon the great was ^(F)remembered in the sight of God, to give her ^(G)the cup of the wine of ^[c]His fierce wrath. ²⁰ And ^(H)every island fled, and no mountains were found. ²¹ And ^(I)huge ^[d]hailstones, weighing about ^[e]a talent each, *came down from heaven upon people; and people ^(J)blasphemed God because of the ^(K)plague of the hail, because ^[f]the hailstone plague *was extremely ^[g]severe.
