¹⁴ Moses was angry with the officers of the army^(A)—the commanders of thousands and commanders of hundreds—who returned from the battle.

⁹ Then he sent^(A) to Elijah a captain^(B) with his company of fifty men. The captain went up to Elijah, who was sitting on the top of a hill, and said to him, “Man of God, the king says, ‘Come down!’”

27 This is the list of the Israelites—heads of families, commanders of thousands and commanders of hundreds, and their officers, who served the king in all that concerned the army divisions that were on duty month by month throughout the year. Each division consisted of 24,000 men.
