²² You Samaritans worship what you do not know;^(A) we worship what we do know, for salvation is from the Jews.^{(B) 23} Yet a time is coming and has now come^(C) when the true worshipers will worship the Father in the Spirit^(D) and in truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. ²⁴ God is spirit,^(E) and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth.”

¹⁵ So what shall I do? I will pray with my spirit,^(A) but I will also pray with my understanding; I will sing^(B) with my spirit, but I will also sing with my understanding.
