³ Abraham gave the name Isaac^[a](A) to the son Sarah bore him.

⁶ Sarah said, “God has brought me laughter,^(A) and everyone who hears about this will laugh with me.”

¹³ Then the Lord said to Abraham, “Why did Sarah laugh and say, ‘Will I really have a child, now that I am old?’^(A)

¹⁰ When the child grew older, she took him to Pharaoh’s daughter and he became her son. She named^(A) him Moses,^[a] saying, “I drew^(B) him out of the water.”

³ and her two sons.^(A) One son was named Gershom,^[a] for Moses said, “I have become a foreigner in a foreign land”;^(B)

⁴ and the other was named Eliezer,^[a](A) for he said, “My father’s God was my helper;^(B) he saved me from the sword of Pharaoh.”
