¹³ Then dress Aaron in the sacred garments,^(A) anoint him and consecrate^(B) him so he may serve me as priest. ¹⁴ Bring his sons and dress them in tunics.^{(C) 15} Anoint them just as you anointed their father, so they may serve me as priests. Their anointing will be to a priesthood that will continue throughout their generations.^(D)”

¹³ So Samuel took the horn of oil and anointed^(A) him in the presence of his brothers, and from that day on the Spirit of the Lord^(B) came powerfully upon David.^(C) Samuel then went to Ramah.

¹⁶ Also, anoint^(A) Jehu son of Nimshi king over Israel, and anoint Elisha^(B) son of Shaphat from Abel Meholah^(C) to succeed you as prophet.
