¹⁵ All the troops with Joab came and besieged Sheba in Abel Beth Maakah.^(A) They built a siege ramp^(B) up to the city, and it stood against the outer fortifications. While they were battering the wall to bring it down,

² Then lay siege to it: Erect siege works against it, build a ramp^(A) up to it, set up camps against it and put battering rams around it.^(B)

³ Then take an iron pan,^(A) place it as an iron wall between you and the city and turn your face toward^(B) it. It will be under siege, and you shall besiege it. This will be a sign^(C) to the people of Israel.^(D)
