³⁹ One of them went out into the fields to gather herbs and found a wild vine and picked as many of its gourds as his garment could hold. When he returned, he cut them up into the pot of stew, though no one knew what they were.

¹³ I also shook^(A) out the folds of my robe and said, “In this way may God shake out of their house and possessions anyone who does not keep this promise. So may such a person be shaken out and emptied!”

At this the whole assembly said, “Amen,”^(B) and praised the Lord. And the people did as they had promised.

¹² If someone carries consecrated meat^(A) in the fold of their garment, and that fold touches some bread or stew, some wine, olive oil or other food, does it become consecrated?^(B)’”

The priests answered, “No.”

³⁸ Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap.^(A) For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.”^(B)
